Prosperity gains friends, adversity tries them. Well, this saying could now be true for minister of state for home, Amit Shah.
With rumours about Shah's possible arrest for his alleged role in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case, many in his party are believed to be distancing themselves from the minister.

Till a few months ago, Shah was considered as the possible CM candidate if chief minister Narendra Modi moved to Delhi. But now, suddenly things seem to be going against the minister.
Many current ministers and senior BJP leaders are apparently keeping a distance from Shah. They are also allegedly wary of lending him personal support.

A senior minister on condition of anonymity said, "Shah did not maintain excellent personal relations with his fellow ministers, seniors, contemporaries and workers. So most of them are not likely to come out in the open to support Shah," he said. "Ministers will come out to support him only if instructed by Modi or the party high command. Due to Shah's arrogant and autocratic behaviour most ministers don't like to work with him," said the senior minister.

Another minister said that Shah doesn't show up at most of the routine government functions and has stopped communicating with other ministers.

"No minister knows of his whereabouts and we are least bothered. His dominating nature while in the cabinet, government and party and his disrespectful attitude towards us has not earned him any sympathy," the minister said.

Another source in the secretariat said that there is open competition between Shah and three other ministers to dominate Ahmedabad and the powerful real estate lobby of the state. Apparently Shah has a good hold over the lobby.
