What is Dr Narendra Amin, the jailed police officer scared of? Why did he apply for a transfer from Sabarmati Jail to another jail?

The answers to these questions may be found in the alleged close group meeting held between former home minister Amit Shah, Amin and the three suspended IPS officers charged in connection with the Sohrabuddin case. The three-and-a-half hour long meeting on Monday was followed by another alleged appeal by a serving senior IPS officer to Amin on Tuesday. This officer who was once a boss of Amin was accompanied by an advocate to try to convince Amin not to turn approver.

The Monday meeting by Shah was allegedly conducted in the historical Tilak room of the Sabarmati Jail from 12 pm to 3:30 pm.
However, given the recent developments it seems all efforts for a last try to convince Amin went waste.

Apart from Shah and Amin, other suspended cops DG Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandiyan, and Dinesh MN were allegedly present in the Tilak room of Sabarmati Jail, said sources. Officials of the Sabarmati Jail, however, were tense as the alleged meeting happened which also apparently witnessed aggressive arguments.

Though the meeting failed to convince Amin, it did apparently alert him to the alleged danger to him. Immediately on the next day of the said meeting Amin applied through his advocate for a transfer from Sabarmati to some other jail, said the source. This was when the serving IPS officer along with an advocate went to meet Amin again on Tuesday. Amin, however according to sources remained adamant and refused all the offers. He allegedly told the IPS officer that he was not acquainted with the fact that a huge amount of money had changed hands even before Sohrabuddin was killed.

Amin further told the officer that his family was not given any official support while he was behind bars.

Meanwhile, sources said Shah's stay in the Sabarmati Jail is very comfortable and another room close to the Tilak room is under renovation for him.
Shah even has got some prisoners at his service all the time, said sources.
