Security apparatus in place for Republic Day function in J&K

Checking of vehicles, area domination patrolling, surprise search and cordon operations besides frisking of pedestrians have been intensified.

Police and paramilitary forces have intensified anti-militant operations in Jammu and Kashmir to foil any attempt by extremists to disrupt Republic Day function, officials said today.

Checking of vehicles, area domination patrolling, surprise search and cordon operations besides frisking of pedestrians have been intensified, particularly in and around the Bakshi Stadium -- the venue of the main function on January 26 in the valley, they said.

The officials said constant watch was also being maintained on the CCT cameras installed at different places to check the movement of trouble-makers.

A high-level meeting to discuss all arrangements with ragard to the main function was also held here yesterday.
