Samajwadi Party has expelled its state executive secretary Maviya Ali for allegedly indulging in 'anti-party' activities and indiscipline, a party spokesman said Lucknow.
"The party has expelled Ali hailing from Deoband in Saharanpur for indulging in anti-party activities and indiscipline," party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said.
Ali, an alumni of Darul-ul-Uloom Deoband is believed to have backed Islamic seminary's vice-chancellor Maulana Ghulam Vastanvi, who is facing heat over his comment related to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.
