Eight hundred bags of ration rice, meant to be smuggled to Karnataka, were seized by police at Burgur today during a routine vehicle check. The seizure was effected from a lorry during a routine check of vehicles in Anthiyur reserve forest area in Burgur
On being questioned, the lorry driver said the rice was meant to be smuggled to Karnataka, police said.
The seized rice and the lorry are totally worth Rs5 lakh, they said.
