Number of positive cases of H1N1 has reached 91 in the state with four more people testing positive on Sunday. The report found one patient each testing positive in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara and Surat on Saturday. As on Sunday evening total 25 patients were admitted in various hospitals of the state.

A girl from Vadodara, who was suspected of swine flu on Saturday, was shifted to city’s Sterling hospital on Sunday. According to hospital authorities, who confirmed the news of transfer, said that she was suspected of having swine flu and samples would be sent to the Civil hospital for further testing. It should be noted that the government has certified some private hospitals for treatment of swine flu and also signed MoUs with them.

Altogether 574 patients were suspected of suffering from swine flu in the state, of whom, 91 tested positive after tests, while 470 turned out to be negative. The death toll in the state from swine flu has reached to six with one more patient succumbing to H1N1 at the SSG Hospital in Vadodara on Sunday.

At present, eight patients have been admitted in the Civil hospital in Ahmedabad, while 10 in the Civil hospital in Surat and seven are being treated in the SSG hospital in Vadodara.

The health department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is screening people in slum pockets of the city for suspected cases. However, no suspected cases were reported on Sunday in any of the municipal corporation-run hospitals.
