Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) chairman, Nandan Nilekani today called on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and explained to him the concept of unique identification card project launched by the Cntral government.
Nilekani had an hour-long meeting with the chief minister during which he explained the entire concept of the card to be given to all citizens of the country.
Moreover, Nilekani also had a meeting with the senior secretaries of the state government regarding the project and explained how it could be implemented across the country.
"Nilekani explained the concept of the projects and its benefits once all citizens are given the multi purpose card. He also explained the process of implementing the project in the country," a senior official in the chief minister office (CMO) told PTI.
According to him, during the meeting, CM asked some questions regarding the project and its implementation. The official added that the CM expressed the view that the project should be expedited and completed in time.
