Pronouncing "death sentence" against a man at its "kangaroo court", members of the CPI (Maoist) chopped off his head and legs at the Naxal-infested Giridih district, police said today.
The Maoists claimed responsibility by pasting a poster on the distorted body and said he was killed after being branded a supporter of "reactionary forces at a jan adalat" staged by the guerrillas yesterday at Beluaghati.
Recently the state government had said that it is keeping a strict watch on "kangaroo courts" of Naxalites.
The Naxalites have perpetrated several crimes at Beluaghati, including massacre of over twenty people about five years ago.
