Danseuse Mallika Sarabhai plans to take out a Parivartan Yatra to the state assembly on Thursday to press for a set of demands for the common man of Gujarat.

The main issues that Sarabhai plans to raise include a probe into the hooch tragedy.

Sarabhai has appealed to the citizens to participate in the yatra so as to bring back the state's development on the right track. She will also put forth a demand for fast track courts to ensure justice to the widows and victims of hooch crisis, arrest of those responsible for the tragedy, financial help to the victims, pension plans and scholarships to the children of the victims.

Apart from this, Sarabhai also plans to demand a compensation of Rs5 lakh, a house and permanent source of income for the families of marginalised people who committed suicide due to financial crisis.

She has also demanded that the state government strictly follow the guideline of the Supreme Court which asks states to ensure 35kg of grains for BPL card holders.

In her list, Sarabhai has demanded that physically challenged people, senior citizens and widows in the BPL category be also considered for a source of income and a house.  She will also raise issues concerning farmers living in interior areas, which includes giving financial help to them at lower rate of interest.

Sarabhai has also demanded an end to privatisation of education in the state.
