London-returned-MBA turns plywood thief in Ahmedabad

He had a degree in management from London and he put the lessons that he learned in a college there to execute a theft in Ahmedabad.

On Wednesday, Vastrapur police arrested ‘London-returned’ thief Jignesh Thakkar, 32 and three others near Bodakdev for trying to sell stolen plywood.

They were caught red-handed with the stolen plywood near Pakwan restaurant. Police found that Jignesh, a resident of Ghodasar, had returned from London just two months ago where he had gone to get his MBA degree.

But as he could not secure a decent job here he turned to thieving. The four were caught after police received a tip off about them trying to sell stolen plywood near Pakwan restaurant. They were carrying the plywood sheets in a mini truck.

Police reached the spot and nabbed Manu Parmar, Dinesh Rabari, Jignesh Thakkar and Mayur Thakor. The mini truck was loaded with 50 sheets of plywood. When asked about the plywood, they confessed to stealing it from a saw mill in Aslali.

The stolen plywood is worth Rs75,000 in the market. Police later found that Rabari was the mastermind behind the theft plan. Jignesh who was friends with Rabari joined him later.

Rabari told the police that he used to work in a saw mill in Aslali, where he made the duplicate key of the godown. After getting the duplicate key he stole the plywood a month ago.

After stealing the wood, Dinesh gathered his friends and made a plan to sell it. But, they are caught red handed while attempting to sell it. All the four were handed over to the Aslali police for further investigation.
