The officials of Gujarat board in Gandhinagar are literally fed up with numerous last minute requests from students, parents and even school authorities asking to let the students appear in the examination. These requests are for the students who have not got their names listed in the list of appearing candidates this year because of different reasons.

Though the date of registration was extended till December 31 this year, the board received more than 2000 last-minute requests from students across the state till Thursday. To get rid of such
problems in future the board is planning to display a database of students (both class X and XII) on its website from next year. This year more than 13 lakh students are appearing for the class X and XII board exams.

"Looking at this problem we are going to put a database of all the students appearing in the board exams from next year. This will enable the students to check their status online and take action immediately in case of any correction," said one of the top officials in the board.

The process goes something like this. Schools send registration forms of the students to the board, while the board after verifying the details sends back the form to the school along with the names of students who have submitted incomplete details.
