The legal battle between Congress MLA from Kodinar, Dheersinh Barad and BJP MP from the region, Dinu Bogha Solanki is all set to reach the next level. A seemingly vexed Barad asserted that need be he will not deter from knocking on Gujarat HC or even SC’s door on the issue.

On April 14, Barad wrote to Gujarat governor Dr Kamla appraising her of the harassment he has faced from Solanki. In a telephonic conversation with DNA from Kodinar on Thursday, Barad said he will wait for the governor’s reply but will eventually take legal recourse to seek solution for alleged harassment in the hands of Solanki.

The Congress MLA alleges that Solanki started troubling him and his family when he tried to expose the latter’s illegal mining business. Political rivalry also is seen as a bone of contention between the warring leaders.

“Solanki is controlling police in Junagadh area and is threatening to file false cases against my relatives,” said Barad on Thursday. “(Junagadh) Police has registered a false case against my nephew Pintoo and his men are threatening me now,” he added.

A complaint was lodged against Pintoo with Kodinar Police for demanding Rs25 L from an Ahmedabad based businessman Virendra Dave.

A popular leader in his Kodinar constituency, Barad believes that his family has fallen prey to political rivalry between him and Solanki.
