Police today remained clueless about the whereabouts of an 18-month-old boy who was kidnapped allegedly by his maid from the national capital two days ago.

Ishaan, the son of a prominent businessman, was kidnapped allegedly by the maid Seema, 19, on Sunday. She was employed by the family ten days ago.

"We are yet to make any headway in the case. Fifteen teams have been spread across various parts of the country," a senior police officer said.

The official said the family has not received any ransom call as of now. "It seems that the servant kidnapped the boy as she was fond of him," he said.

The incident came to light after Seema did not return to the Maharani Bagh home with the child after she took Ishaan for a walk in the park.

She was employed by the family ten days ago after she walked into the house seeking employment. The family had not got her antecedents verified, the official said.

Delhi police had declared a reward of Rs 50,000 for anyone providing information about the child and released the sketch of the suspect.

Those who have any information about the boy or the maid can contact the Station House Officer of New Friends Colony on 0-9868188811 or 011-26834563 or 011-26934863, the official said.

A case under Section 363 (kidnapping) of Indian Penal Code has been registered. If convicted, one can be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years and shall also be liable to fine.

Over 550 children have gone missing from the capital this year so far with this month alone accounting for at least 173 such cases.
