DMK patriarch and Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi today put a gag on his partymen from speaking on policy issues and alliance matters.

"I, as the president and K Anbazhagan as the general secretary, are alone authorised to speak about the decisions taken on important issues and alliance, which are to be decided by the party's executive and general council", Karunanidhi said in a statement.

The interviews given by partymen in their personal capacity at a time when the state is to go to polls within a year, were "twisted" by a section of "mischievous" media, which would "destroy" the party discpline, he said.
