Jayaprakash Narayan hopes for amicable solution to Telangana turmoil

Lok Satta president Jayaprakash Narayan today hoped that the Centre would soon come out with an amicable solution to defuse the situation in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of protests over announcement of a separate Telangana state.

Narayan, who returned here from Delhi this morning, told media that the central government is fully cognisant of the  gravity of the situation and would soon come up with a solution that takes into account the aspiration and concerns of people of all the three regions.

The Lok Satta party chief Narayan met prime minister Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi, BJP senior leader LK Advani and other senior central ministers during his four-day visit as part of his mission to defuse the present political crisis in the state.

Narayan said "there is no magic formula that can simultaneously accommodate the demands of the state's division as also for keeping it intact. Even God can not help".

Any solution would involve a give and take on the part of all the stakeholders, he asserted and said that formation of a separate state would neither be a calamity not a panacea to people's problem.
