Jammu and Kashmir BJP today welcomed prime minister Manmohan Singh's visit to valley beginning tomorrow but cautioned him  from making any announcement to please the separatists.

"The PM along with UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, who are visiting Kashmir tomorrow, should not make any announcement or promise which weakens India's stand or gives an edge to separatists or militants to exploit the situation," party president Ashok Khajuria told reporters here.

"The Central government leaders should keep in mind that separatists and militants are openly working against the disintegration of the state and no promise should be given by visiting leaders which undermines nation's interests," Khajuria said adding any such concession or announcement made to please a handful of such people in the valley would be opposed tooth and nail by BJP.

He said a delegation of BJP MLAs would also meet the prime minister and apprise him about the party's stand on the issue.

Other BJP leaders present demanded that October 27 should be declared as holiday in J&K as it was this day that the state became an integral part of India through accession by Maharaja Hari Singh in 1947.
