Half of Ramlila Maidan will be clean by the time Anna arrives: MCD

Leader of the house in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Subhash Arya on Thursday said that at least half of the cleaning operations of the mucky Ramlila Maidan will be complete by 3pm, the time Anna Hazare said he would resume his protest.

The cleaning-up mission is being monitored by Commissioner KS Mehra, who also deputed area Deputy Commissioner to the Maidan to lead the operations.

The MCD received orders from the police at 9am to clean the venue after the Gandhian agreed to the government's permission for a 15-day fast.

Hazare said he will leave Tihar Jail, where a huge crowd has gathered, only when the ground is ready.

In other related news, the Delhi Association of Doctors will hold a conference at 2pm in support of Anna's cause.
