After few days of severe heat, Ahmedabad, on Thursday, had cloudy weather. And the good news is that this weather is here to stay for the next two days. What's more, the Met department has predicted rain in some parts of the state too.

An official in the Met department said, "The cloudy weather is likely to continue for two more days. "During the two days, the temperature is likely to be low and at times, even below normal.

The official said, the cloudy weather was due to the induced effects of the western disturbances which is present over the northern Pakistan region. "Apart from the cloudy weather some parts of the state may receive some rain," said the official.

Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 37.6 degree Celsius, two degrees below normal, on Thursday. The minimum temperature was 27.4 degree celsius.

"It is a bit better than other days but I still feel hot. At times the weather becomes cloudy which brings some relief. I guess I shouldn't be complaining as I have seen worse days than this," said Kiran Chhabhara, a shop owner in Bapunagar.

However, ice-cream vendors and sugarcane juice vendors did not see a dip in the number of customers visiting their shops.
Magan Patel, a vendor of an ice-cream shop said just one or two days of cloudy weather is not going to affect his business.

"I am assured of good sales during summer irrespective of the weather being cloudy or not. Unless it starts raining and the temperature drops substantially, people are going to gorge on ice creams and cool drinks," he said.
