Four cases of chain-snatching were registered in the city on Thursday, and gold chains worth Rs1.34 lakh were stolen.
One Pushpa Son, 66, residing near Vijay Char Rasta, was robbed of her gold chain while she was strolling near her home. In her complaint filed with the Vastrapur police, she said that two persons on a bike snatched away her gold chain worth Rs70,000.
Sejal Patel, a resident of Bodakdev, also told the Vastrapur police that two men on a bike escaped with her gold chain worth Rs14,000.
In Vejalpur, one Bhavna Solanki filed a complaint stating that she was robbed of gold jewellery worth Rs15,000 near Jivraj Park. While Shilpa Desai, a resident of Isanpur, lodged a complaint stating that two persons on a bike made away with her jewellery worth Rs35,000.
The city police have requested citizens to use the traffic helpline number 1095 in case of chain-snatching.
