Ahead of the Congress president Sonia Gandhi's visit to Goa, state's main opposition- BJP has sent her a letter asking ten "crucial" questions, mostly concerning the state, which they expect to be answered during her public speech in Panaji.

BJP Goa Unit Chief Laxmikant Parsekar told reporters in Panaji on Thursday that they have faxed ten questions to Gandhi's office in New Delhi. "We have got a confirmation from her office about receiving our fax," he said.

Parsekar said that the questions asked to Gandhi highlight the "gross misdeeds" of the Congress-led government in the state and their "inefficiency to handle basic issues".

Gandhi will be in Goa on December 17 to address a public rally in the capital city of Panaji. Congress leaders have claimed that she would be speaking on the subject of the roadmap for Goa for the next 25 years.

The party has claimed the involvement of Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and other party leaders like Joaquim Alemao, Subhash Shirodkar, Aleix Sequeira and Vishwajit Rane in the illegal mining scam in the state.

The party has also asked Congress' stand on the Regional Plan 2021, a futuristic land-use plan, which has been opposed by several NGOs and grass-root level organisations like panchayats.

"We have asked her whether the party is ready to scrap the plan in the interest of the Goans," he said.

The main opposition party has also pointed out that the state government adopts partisan attitude while allotting jobs to the youngsters of the state.

The issues like politicians amassing wealth and drug trafficking are raised through the letter.

"We are surprised that Sonia Gandhi, who has nothing to do with Goa, will be deciding the roadmap for the state. It is an insult of the elected representatives," he said adding that Gandhi should answer the questions raised by the party, "if she claims to be pro-Goa".
