Family of four commit suicide

A family of four, including two kids, committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Amruthaluru village in the district, police said today.

The incident took place last night when Sambasiva Rao (35) and his wife Parvathy (30) consumed soft drinks laced with pesticide and gave the same to the children, they said.

All four were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital but were declared dead on arrival, they said.

Financial problem could be the motive behind the step, they said.
   
Rao, a liquor shop owner, had a dispute with his partner who had filed a complaint against him for cheating and misappropriation of funds, they said.

Further investigations are on, police added.
