A snag in one of the servers followed by power cut made it really difficult for aspirants to ‘bell the CAT2009’ in the city on Wednesday! The ‘double trouble’ at a test centre in the city delayed the test by around two hours.

At the LJ Institute of Management Studies, one of the three test labs for CAT2009 in the city, test format could not be downloaded because of a technical snag. As the authorities were trying to fix the problem power got disconnected, stalling the rescue attempts of the technicians in the process.

The test, which was scheduled to end at 12.30 pm, finally ended by 2.30 pm.
“The test was to start at 10 am. We got nervous when the system failed to download the test format for around one and a half hours. Even the invigilators had no idea what to do,” said an examinee.

The test format was finally downloaded by around 11.30 am. Just as the authorities were trying to put everything on track, power connection to the centre got snapped and for the next five minutes everything came to a standstill. Snacks were distributed among the examinees to help them during their hours of agony.

Though the power connection was restored after five minutes, it took another half-an-hour for the technicians to reboot the computers and download the test format once again.
