Don't skip budget sessions to watch World Cup: LK Advani to party MPs

In view of the ongoing cricket World Cup, BJP Parliamentary Party chief LK Advani today asked party members not to skip proceedings in the House and be present during crucial sittings of the Budget session.
    
Addressing the Parliamentary Party meeting of the BJP here today, Advani said there are only 29 sittings in the Budget session before both Houses take a break for Holi.
    
There were reports that some MPs, including those from the BJP, were planning to write to the Chair (Speaker in case of Lok Sabha and Chairperson in case of Rajya Sabha) seeking leave to watch the cricket world cup.
    
BJP is apprehensive that the pressure that it has built up against the government on the issue of corruption may get weakened if its members are not present in both Houses of Parliament when issues like 2-G spectrum allocation, S-band allocation to Devas Multimedia, Commonwealth Games projects, rations scam in the army, among others, come up for discussion.
