NEW DELHI: A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) expert on Wednesday told a Delhi court that the Dhaula Kuan gangrape victim was administered a sedative and denied that she was drunk at the time of the incident.

"No alcohol was found in the gastric lavage sample of the victim, which I analysed," Kavita Goyal, Senior Scientific Assistant of FSL, Rohini, told Additional Sessions Judge V K Bansal.

Goyal, recording her testimony as 26th prosecution witness in the three-year-old sensational gangrape case, said that on chemical analysis of the sample it was found that she was administered Benzo Diazepines, a sedative.

The victim, who belongs to a north-eastern state, was abducted by four car-borne accused around 2.15 am on May 8, 2005 from Dhaula Kuan here and later raped.

Besides Goyal, the court also recorded the statements of V K Goel, Director of FSL, who said that the Delhi Police had formally requested for an examination of the gastric sample.

Sub-Inspector Charan Singh, who was earlier part of the investigation team, had recorded his testimony saying that on May 13, 2005 he along with other colleague had nabbed main accused Ajit Katiyar.

On being questioned by Manoj Sharma, counsel for accused, about the date of recording of the confessional statement of the main accused, Singh faltered.

"He was interrogated (after the arrest on May 13) and he confessed. His disclosure was recorded," Singh said.

Later, he said disclosure was not recorded and only inquiries were made.

"Some pornographic photographs were also recovered from his possession," he said.

According to the prosecution, four accused - Ajit Katiyar, Danda, Jat and Tappe -- had abducted the girl, who hailed from a north-eastern state, around 2.15 am from Dhaula Kuan here when she was walking back to her home after picking food from a roadside eatery.

Katiyar, a driver with a private firm, was arrested five days after the sensational gangrape and was later allegedly identified by the victim in the test identification parade.

The other three accused, however, could not be arrested by the police.
