A local court has ordered the registration of FIR against 32 people, including a police official, for allegedly harrasing and issuing a search order against a couple who married against the local custom.

The court order yesterday came after a village panchayat had announced Rs1 lakh reward for those who could bring the couple "dead or alive", who got married despite hailing from the same 'gotra'.

Following the order, Bajaj Nagar police today lodged FIR against all the 32, including SHO Kumher (Bharatpur) police station for allegedly protecting other accused. Umesh Kumar and Pinki Kumari, residents of a village in Bharatpur district, eloped and got married on April 15 against the local custom after having a love affair for about six years.

The girl's uncle and other villagers allegedly attacked the couple when they returned to the village on May 29 amid a tense atmosphere. The couple again escaped from the village and reached Jaipur on July 9th via Punjab.

Meanwhile, a village panchayat announced Rs one lakh reward for anybody who could bring the two "dead or alive", police said. Kumar alleged that his family was being harrased and few villagers tried to kidnap his father, a government servant posted in the district. "SHO Kumher denied to lodge FIR in this regard and is protecting the accused," he added.

A local court of judicial magistrage 13 (Jaipur city) yesterday ordered to lodge FIR against 32 persons while hearing a petition filed by certain social activists.
