Couple killed in road mishap in West Bengal

A couple was killed while their two daughters were injured in a road accident near Bahalgarh Chowk, about 10 km from here, police said today.

The victims have been identified as Sanjay Singh, a resident of Bhainswal Kalan village, and his wife Neeraj Devi whereas the injured girls are Shurati (6) and Sheweta (6).

The mishap occurred when Sanjay Singh, an employee in Delhi Jal Board, along with his wife and two daughters was going on his motorcycle to Sonepat. The vehicle was hit by a tractor-trolley on the national highway one, they said, adding the couple died on the spot.

Both the injured girls were rushed to a local hospital from where they were referred to PGIMS at Rohtak.

The police has registered a case against the tractor trolley driver and sent the bodies of the victims for postmortem examination.
