Taking potshots at its political competitors in the Uttar Pradesh elections, BJP on Wednesday said the Congress, SP and BSP are "cousins" of each other when it comes to corruption.

Reacting to comments made by Congress President Sonia Gandhi at a rally in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday that BJP, SP and BSP were part of the same flock, BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi said it is a case of the kettle calling the pot black.

Joshi maintained that it was the Congress which was in fact hand in glove with BSP and SP.

"Whenever an issue has erupted in Parliament, sometimes the SP and sometimes the BSP comes to the rescue of the government. All of them are cousins. Congress is the elder brother and these two are younger. I am not saying they are siblings," Joshi said.

He pointed out that during crucial Bills, including the Lokpal Bill, the two parties had helped the Congress.

He alleged that Congress, SP and BSP are one on the issue of corruption.
