Nowithstanding the claims of Union home minister P Chidambaram that 'saffron terrorism' had been implicated in many bomb blasts across the country, the RJD today accussed the Congress of giving 'patronage' to the saffron brigade.
Deputy leader of the state assembly and RJD spokesperson, Shakeel Ahmed Khan accused the Congress party of giving patronage to saffron terrorism with no action being taken against the saffron brigade out to break the 'secular fabric' of the country.
Khan told reporters at the party headquarters that the country witnessed Malegaon blast, Mecca masjid blast in Hyderabad, Ajmer blast and Modassa blast in Gujarat and others.
In all these blasts, the investigating agencies had found the involvement of 'saffron terrorists' but the police did not take any action against Paragya Singh Thakur, Colonel Purohit and Dayanand Pandey found guilty by the anti-terrorist squad headed by Hemant Karkare, Vijay Saleskar and others who laid downtheir lives to thwart the attack on India on November 29, 2008.
After the death of Karkare, the Congress party put the investigations of saffron terrorism on the backburner, Khan alleged.
The RJD leader also accused Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar of being hand in glove with the saffron party to cling to the power.
