Stepping up its attack against BJP, Congress today accused senior BJP leader LK Advani of colluding with Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi when he was the home minister in engineering post-Godhra communal riots in Gujarat in 2002 to win assembly elections.

"Chief minister of Gujarat would not have dared to ask police officers to allow Hindus to vent out their anger. Narendra Modi could not have dared it unless he had the support of the then home minister Lal Krishna Advani for it. Not just collusion, he was a party to Modi's actions in 2008," AICC general secretary Madhusudan Mistry told reporters in Delhi.
