Cong bags four mayors, 25 chairmen posts in Rajasthan civic polls

The ruling Congress in Rajasthan today clinched the Mayor's post in all the four municipal corporations of Jodhpur, Jaipur, Kota and Bikaner, an election official said.

In another major victory after Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha polls, the ruling Congress in Rajasthan today clinched the mayor's post in all the four municipal corporations of Jodhpur, Jaipur, Kota and Bikaner, an election official said.

The party also won 25 out of 42 chairmen in civic bodies' polls, which went to voting on November 23, whereas opposition BJP won chairmen in three Municipal Councils and in seven Municipal Boards. Independents were declared as chairmen in
six civic bodies, while BSP in one municipal board.

Elections were held in 46 civic bodies including for the post of Mayors for four municipal corporations, chairmen in 11 municipal councils and chairpersons in 31 municipal boards on November 23.
