Chidambaram stress on Industrial growth

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Sunday unveiled the statues of Swami Vivekananda and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at the private run Sri Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic College at Mylady, about 20 from here.

He said "without industrial growth and manufacturing capacity no country could develop."

He said out of the total growth, the industries and manufacturing sector’s share in India was 25 to 26 per cent. But in US, Germany, Japan and China industrial growth was too high and only because of such vast industrial growth these countries were thriving and growing.

He said India’s economy has not improved for the past one decade due to non-developmental industrial sector. But the service sector in India has grown fastly, which was not a good

He wanted youths to bring an economical revolution in India, by developing the industrial and manufacture sectors.

He said late Rajiv Gandhi and was responsible for growth of software, information and technology and other developments in India.
