CPI national secretary D Raja today accused the UPA government of attempting to allow private nuclear power plants through Nuclear Civil Liabilities Bill.
   
The government was trying to provide a backdoor entry to private players from the US in nuclear power generation without amending the relevant act, he told reporters here.
   
He claimed India was under constant pressure from the US to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Test Ban treaty.
   
Raja also accused the UPA government of betraying the Sri Lankan Tamils.
