With a view to recognise young literary talent in Gujarat, the state government along with Gujarat Sahitya Academy of Gandhinagar held 'Yuva Gaurav Puruskaar' in the city on Sunday and felicitated four budding litterateurs.

Fakir Vaghela, the sports, youth and cultural activities minister of the state, handed over the awards and a cash prize of Rs50,000 to each of them on the occasion.

The four youth who received the awards were Saumya Joshi, Dhwanil Parekh, Hardwar Goswami and Anil Chavda.
Bhagyesh Jha, secretary, cultural activities and sports, Gujarat government said, "The award was instituted in 2007 to motivate the young literary talent of the state. Although, the award is given to only one person every year, this time it was given to four people as the function has not been held since the last four years."

Jha felt that in an age when everyone is more interested in the internet, if some people take interest in literature  they should be appreciated.
