Bouyed by the performance of its senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi as chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), BJP today said it would take the 2G spectrum scam and other corruption cases to the people in the coming months.

BJP Core Group discussed the recent controversies over the PAC's functioning and the attempts of Congress and DMK members in the committee to "prevent" filing of a report on the 2G spectrum allocation.

"The party discussed the political situation arising out of the report of the PAC. We regret the fact that on a scam involving huge, monumental amounts of public exchequer which has been lost, the UPA and Congress were reluctant that the truth comes out before the meeting," senior BJP leader Arun
Jaitley told reporters.

The BJP top brass felt the government had tried to manage the divisions in the committee over appearance of PMO officials before the PAC to depose on the 2G spectrum issue by misusing the official machinery against parties whose senior leaders are facing corruption cases.

"The polarisation this time (in PAC) was in order to prevent the truth from coming out of the UPA, along with parties like the DMK, SP and BSP, which are those parties whose leaders are being prosecuted under the Prevention of Corruption Act," Jaitley said.

The BJP leaders decided that the issue of corruption should be taken to the people to keep up the momentum against the UPA government.

"BJP will use this occasion to carry on and strengthen its campaign on the issue of corruption against the UPA," Jaitley said.
