BJP not against quiet diplomacy: Vijay Goel

The BJP today said it was not against "quiet diplomacy" to resolve the lingering Jammu and Kashmir problem, but the exercise should not be focused on vote bank politics.
       
The party was not against involving different parties in the dialogue process in the state, BJP general secretary Vijay Goel said.
       
But, the "quiet diplomacy" should not aim at vote bank politics, he said.
   
The BJP also supported talks with Pakistan but the exercise could be successful only if Pakistan dismantled the terrorist infrastructure on its soil, he said.
       
On the report of the working group on Jammu and Kashmir with regard to Centre-State ties, he said the party had rejected it.
       
The members of the group were also against it as they were not taken into confidence while finalising the report, he alleged.
   
The BJP leader, who had earlier announced the name of Shamsher Singh Manhas as new BJP chief of Jammu and Kashmir, said the the party would launch a state-wide stir next month against rising prices of essential commodities.
       
This would be followed by a march to Parliament, he said.
