BJP demands better security measures, including CCTVs

Expressing concern over reports that suspected terrorist David Coleman Headley had planned terror strikes in the national capital, BJP today demanded better security measures including installation of CCTV cameras across the city to ensure better surveillance.
    
Senior BJP leader VK Malhotra said that apart from installing CCTV cameras, intelligence services should be allowed complete access to areas that could be used by terrorists for carrying out attacks or hiding.

"In spite of the seriousness of the revelations, it is not apparent that the Central and Delhi governments are taking adequate steps to thwart the threats," the Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly said.

Headley, 49, who was arrested last month for allegedly hatching a conspiracy with LeT to carry out strikes inside and outside the US, including in India. During interrogation, he reportedly told the FBI that terror attacks were being planned in India, including targeting installations like National Defence College in the national capital and five star hotels.

Malhotra said that based on revelations made by arrested Lashkar militants and ISI agents, security agencies should storm their places of hiding and they should be subjected to narco-analysis test find out their collaborators.
