Bhavan’s student, two others held for string of bike thefts

The trio stole the bikes to finance their luxurious lifestyle.

A first year BSc student of Bhavan's College and two others have been arrested by the Naroda police in connection with the theft of several bikes from various parts of the city.

 The accused have been identified as Mitesh Sutharia, 20, a first year BSc student of Bhavan's College, Nikunj alias Chacko a class 9 dropout and Nilesh Mulchandani. 

The accused are residents of Nobelnagar in Naroda.  Naroda police said the cops laid a trap for the trio near Galaxy Cinema, following a tip off.

A team of Naroda police, which included police inspector KJ Khant, constables Vikram Sinh Khant and Mahendra Sinh Khant nabbed the three.

The cops have also recovered eight stolen bikes from them.  Sources said that the youths stole the bikes to finance their luxurious lifestyle.

They sold the bikes and spend the money on food and shopping. Sources further said that Mitesh's father is a class II officer at ITI Ahmedabad. The three were involved in several bike thefts in Ellisbridge, Vastrapur, Nadiad, Adalaj, Shahibaugh, Kalol and others parts of city. 

Few days ago, they had stolen a bike from Indraprasth Apartment in Vastrapur and had later abandoned it in Nadiad.
