The CBI custody of the key suspect in the Bhanwari Devi missing case, Shahabuddin, was extended till November five by a court here today.

This is the second extension of Shahabuddin's CBI custody in the past 10 days.

The court also gave permission to the CBI to take him to the Central Jail for confronting him with Sohan Lal Bishnoi and Baldev alias Balia, both accused in the case and currently in judicial custody for two days.

The CBI has recovered some articles during the course of investigation in the case which the court permitted the agency to preserve with it.

The CBI produced Shahabuddin before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (CBI) Jagdish Jyani and sought an extension of his custody which was extended till November five.

The CBI sought the extension contending he was not "cooperating" with the agency.

The court permitted the CBI to confront Shahabuddin with Bishnoi and Balia on November one and two.

The CBI had interrogated Bishnoi and Balia in the jail on October 19 and 20.

The CBI also produced the medical examination reports of Shahabuddin in compliance with the court's order to get him medically-examined every 48 hours.

There were four reports in total -- two from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, and two from Jodhpur's M G Hospital.

Former Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna, an accused, has not been summoned yet, a CBI spokesperson had said.

Bhanwari (36), posted as auxiliary nurse and midwife at a sub-centre in Jaliwada village, around 120-km from Jodhpur, went missing on September one.

Her husband Amarchand had alleged she was abducted at the behest of Maderna and his associates. The charges were denied by Maderna who was sacked by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on October 16.
