Art is the voice of silence: Omar Abdullah

Describing art as the voice of silence, Jammu and Kashmir CMster Omar Abdullah today said paintings communicate feelings of the artist absorbed from the surroundings.

Inspecting the exhibition of rare paintings at a private school at Athwajan on the outsirts of the city, organised by the Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi in collaboration with State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Omar said paintings depict the culture, heritage, history and traditions of particular areas and the lives of people.

More than 50 paintings of renowned artists of national and international repute are being exhibited in the exhibition
which started on October 23 and concludes on October 29.
