For the third consecutive day, the Metro rail services here suffered disruption caused by suicides when a youth jumped before an approaching train at Sovabazar station this afternoon.
The unidentified youth, in his thirties, jumped before the running train coming from Girish Park station, Metro Railway sources said here.
Train services were hampered for about an hour from 4.04 pm due to the incident, they said adding the normal operation was resumed at 5.00 pm after the body was lifted from the tracks.
Police said the youth was taken to nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
A 22-year-old woman flung herself before a running train at Girish Park yesterday and a 30-year-old youth did the same at Rabindra Sarovar station on Friday.
This is the fourth incident of suicide on Metro tracks in 11 days.
