On Sunday, member of the parliament, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, his wife Anju Chandrasekhar, and their two children, Ved and Devika, adopted an array of wild animals and birds, including lions, a Bengal tiger, leopards, Asiatic elephant, Indian rock python, spoon bill, love birds, and a giant squirrel, at Bannerghatta National Park.

At an event held at the Bannerghatta National Park, Chandrasekhar handed over a cheque for Rs6.89 lakh to CP Yogeshwar, forest minister of Karnataka and Raju, director of National Park towards the adoption of 31 birds and animals.  Chandrasekhar said that he and his family are glad to be a part of this initiative. 

“We are delighted to be a part of this initiative and contribute to the well-being of these lovely animals and birds and encourage wildlife conservation.  “All the animals in the park need support and my Namma Bengaluru Foundation will work with schools and colleges in the city to create awareness and raise funds for the adoption of birds and animals in Bannerghatta National Park,” he said.
