Ahmedabad's RSU grads to get preference in police recruitment

If you are seeking a career in the state level police services, you need to study in Raksha Shakti University to better your chances of being selected. In a move to promote the university, chief minister Narendra Modi announced that certificate holders of RSU will be given special weightage and marks during the recruitment of police and allied services related to security in the state government.

The CM was addressing the audience at the first convocation ceremony of RSU at Ahmedabad Management Association on Wednesday. Out of 159 students of first batch of the varsity, 141  cleared the Diploma in Police Science course and were awarded certificates for the same.

Modi said, "The state government has decided that certificate holders of RSU will be given preference in the recruitment of police and allied security forces. They will also be given jobs on priority basis in the recruitment of Home Guards and Village Guards. Youth of the state, who are ready to sacrifice their life for the safety and security of the country and society, will get opportunities to serve in the disciplined security force."

He expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the university. He said, "Being a first of its kind university, there were many concerns and questions about its objectives. But the way it has developed in the area of modern training and skill development, is a matter of pride for the university". The nearly 240 acres campus of the RSU is being developed near Lavad village in Dahegam taluka. Vikas Sahay, deputy director general of RSU also spoke on the occasion and gave an account of the achievement of the students in the short span of 11 months.
