Kadva Patels to hold
5-day event in Jamnagar dist; community welcomes all, invites CM.
After the show strength by Leuva Patel (LP) community at the foundation stone laying ceremony at Khodaldham in Kagvad in Rajkot district, now it is the turn of Kadva Patel (KP) community.
The KPs are all set to show their unity and strength in another socio-religious event to mark the silver jubilee celebration of Umiyadham at Sidsar in Jamnagar district between February 9 and 13.
Contrary to LP event, the KP event is not restricted to Kadva Patel community only; it is open to all. The community has also invited chief minister Narendra Modi to the event.
At the LP event, where around 21 lakh people from the community attended, no political leader except former chief minister and veteran BJP leader Keshubhai Patel was given a place on the stage and allowed to speak.
There were also murmurs that chief minister Modi had shown interest in attending the event but it was played down by the organisers.
For the KP event at Sidsar, its media cell convener Rajani Patel said, “This is an event for the social development. It doesn’t have any political agenda. Apart from Kadva Patels, lakhs of people are worshipping goddess Umiya. We have sent 2.5 lakh personal invitations to KPs, but the event is not limited to KP community only. Everyone who has faith in the goddess is welcome. The CM has confirmed that he will be present at the inauguration ceremony. The CM doesn’t belong to any community but he belongs to the state, so we have invited him. We have also invited Keshubhai Patel, ministers, MLAs and leaders from different walks of life.’’
Baba Ramdev, Shri Shri Ravishankar, Morari Bapu, Rameshbhai Oza ‘Bhaiji’ and other prominent religious and spiritual leaders will also attend the event.
“An amount of Rs41 crore was donated in just three hours for the event. We are expecting 25 lakh visitors in five days. Food will also be served at the event,” said Patel.
