10 killed in house collapse as dust storm lashes Gazipur

The storm uprooted trees and electric poles affecting movement of traffic in different parts of the district, power supply and communication were also disrupted.

Ten people were killed and 12 injured in seprate incidents of house collapse triggered by a high velocity wind and dust storm which lashed the district late tonight, police said.

They said four people were killed when a house collapsed in Saidpur tehsil while three others were killed in a similar incident at Jamunia village.

Two persons were killed in Gazipur sadar and one person in Mohamdabad.

Police sources said twelve people were injured as the houses collapsed.

The storm uprooted trees and electric poles affecting movement of traffic in different parts of the district, police said adding power supply and communication were also disrupted.
