Ryan student murder: Mother says 'put principal in jail'; CBSE appoints two-member fact-finding committee

Inconsolable Jyoti Thakur has only one question on her mind – who killed her son? "I want to know what happened to my child," they mother keeps on repeating.

Even as the Gurugram Police claims to have solved the gruesome murder of Thakur's 7-year-old son inside Ryan International School, the family feels that there's more than meets the eye.

On Friday, shortly after Varun Thakur dropped off his son to the school, the family received a call from school that the class II student has been found injured.

Soon the parents reached Artemis Hospital only to be told that their son has died.

After massive outrage, in a late night development, the police claimed that they have arrested the accused.

Accused Ashok Kumar, the bus conductor, who reportedly confessed to the murder of Ryan student.

It turned out that a bus conductor had murdered the child after an attempted sexual assault.

However, the victim's family feels that there should be a proper probe in the case.

The family also wants action against the school authorities, especially the principal. “Principal was indifferent when she came to hospital, put her in jail,” Jyoti said.

Roshan Jha, victim's uncle, talking to DNA said, “more people can be involved in the case. We don't know if the police have got the right person. Is the bus conductor the real culprit, we don't know.”

His sister, victim's mother, also questioned the the link between the accused and her son.

“My son did not even know the bus conductor as he never travelled in the school bus,we used to drop him and pick him,” Jyoti said.

Meanwhile, angry parents held protests outside the school demanding action against the school administration.

Though the acting-principal Neerja Batra has been suspended, many parents are demanding stricter action against the school.

The murder has stunned the nation with many worried about safety of their children in schools.

Reacting to the murder, Union Education Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “ It's very unfortunate. It's like warning to people and schools. Justice will be served for sure”.

Meanwhile, the 42-year-old accused has been sent to a 3-day judicial custody.

In what can be seen as growing trouble for the school, there are reports that the CBSE may revoke the affiliation of the school. The CBSE has asked the school to send a report along with FIR filed in this case within two days.

CBSE appointed a two-member fact-finding committee to enquire into the tragic murder.
