Jawahar Bagh in Mathura remains cordoned off as police comb the area for evidence.

BJP leaders entered into a war of words with Uttar Pradesh police on Sunday, after being stopped from entering the Jawahar Bagh in Mathura. The site of the deadly clashes that claimed at least 27 lives, including two police officers, is currently cordoned off by the police to gather evidence.
However, accusing the cops of being hand in glove with the Samajwadi Party leadership, Hathras MP Rajesh Diwakar demanded the resignation of Mulayam Singh Yadav's younger brother and state PWD Minister Shivpal Yadav. This is after BJP state chief Keshav Prasad Maurya had alleged that the attackers were “goons of PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav”. Diwakar also alleged that the leader of the sect, Ram Vriksha Yadav, who was confirmed to have died during the clashes, had been given a free hand to operate. The son is still untraceable.
MP Meerut Rajendra Agrawal went on to say, "We wanted to enter Jawahar Bagh, but were denied entry by the police. They are hiding evidence."

The allegations made SP (rural) AK Singh emotional as he recalled losing his colleagues in the incident. "How can we be accused when we are the ones who suffered? SP Mukul Dwivedi was like a brother to me. We have sealed the encounter scene since weapons are still being recovered and crucial evidence will be destroyed if people walk inside."
Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti also complained that she was not allowed into the area.

"I blame the SP govt for this. If the govt doesn't take preventive steps even after being aware, then they are to be blamed. If a police officer was being beaten up, why was he not rescued by security?" she questioned.
Meanwhile, the probe ordered by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav into the incident will begin on Sunday, as the Presiding officer of the high power administrative probe committee and Commissioner of Aligarh, Chandrakant will first visit the spot and take stock of the situation. The Commissioner said that if somebody wants to present any evidence or information on the incident, he will be heard.
