Manipur violence: Four villagers, including father, son killed by suspected militants

In a shocking turn of events, suspected militants killed four villagers including a father and son in a hilly area between Manipur’s Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts, police said on Thursday as per NDTV.

The four men from Bishnupur's Akasoi village went to a nearby forest to collect firewood. They were first abducted by the suspected militants before they were allegedly tortured and killed, as per the police complaint filed by the families of the victims who went missing yesterday.

The bodies of the victims were recovered today by the police officials from Kumbi in Bishnupur district, 

Meanwhile, search operations are being conducted by the security forces in the area.

The four victims were identified as Ibomcha Singh (51) and his son Anand Singh (20), Romen Singh (38), and Dara Singh (37).

Villagers saw the dead bodies on the social media network, operated by various Kuki organisations, and informed the police who then recovered the bodies.
