Fresh ceasefire violations took place on Thursday night after Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing.

The firing continued from 11:20 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with small arms in Bimber Gali sector of Poonch in Jammu region. Indian troops responded appropriately. No damage or loss of life was reported . 

On Wednesday too, Pakistan violated ceasefire in Poonch. 

"The Pakistan army targeted Krishna Ghati sector of the LoC in Poonch district late last night. They resorted to small arms firing to which our troops responded appropriately and effectively," Jammu-based defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said on Thursday morning. 

He said the ceasefire violation started at around 8 pm and continued till 10:30 pm in the night on Wednesday.
