1) BBMP Election Results: BJP defies odds to win Bengaluru civic polls, Modi hails hat-trick of victories

Despite all out efforts by Congress government in Karnataka, let it be an attempt to postpone the elections to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Council on one or the other pretext (either delimitation of wards or trifurcation of Bengaluru) and assigning majority of Cabinet ministers to supervise and manage campaign for Congress candidates in the elections held on August 22, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates won from 100 wards out of 198 wards for which results were declared so far.  Read our full report here.

4) Sensex and Nifty recover some ground

At 1427 hours, the Sensex was up 0.81% or 208.02 points at 25,949.59 from Monday's catastrophic close, and the Nifty was up 0.75% or 58.25 points at 7,867.25.​

5) Did Saif Ali Khan just reveal the climax of 'Phantom'?

At a media interaction, when asked about whether Saif Ali Khan thinks Phantom can be made into a franchise, he quipped. "I think you need to wait to see the film to realise whether we can make a sequel or not." When asked what he meant, he said, "People need to see if the characters are alive at the end of the film to make it into a sequel," adding his disarming smile.​
