The CBI today filed a supplementary chargesheet against two Trinamool Congress MPs, Tapas Pal and Sudip Bandyopadhyay, and Rose Valley group chairman Gautam Kundu in a Bhubaneswar court in connection with the chit fund scam probe.

According to the central probe agency, the accused were allegedly involved in a criminal conspiracy and the MPs abused their official position by participating and aiding the illegal money collection business of the Rose Valley group.

"They promoted the illegal business of the company - Rose Valley Marketing System - by writing letters to the regulator and also by sharing the dais with the accused director at various functions to endorse the schemes (of the company) in lieu of huge financial benefits," a CBI statement read.

The case has been registered under sections 420, 408, 409, 120B, 34 of IPC and sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978.
